Remembrance Day Reflections

O Canada!
O Canada! Our home and native land
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise
The true north, strong and free
From far and wide, O Canada
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free
O Canada! We stand on guard for thee
O Canada! We stand on guard for thee

This page is in Loving Memory of my Dad ( Asa A. Mitton) who fought in World War II from (1940-1945). November the 11th was a very special day in his life as Christmas would be to most children today. He was a member of the Bouctouche Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 43 and he loved life at its fullest. He is a Holder of the Military Metal along with 5 stars for the Countries he was in serving at war. My Mother who passed away December 6th,2011 served in World War II also. Another page on her shall be added shortly. My dad died at age 92 and was sure proud of his age along with his family and so many friends. Today he and my mother is remembered as always and loved by all who knew them.

IN FLANDERS FIELDS

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

At the going down of the sun and in the
morning, we will remember them.
